Dear Family,
This war has not been so great. All the people that I have met and all the friends I have Made have either been killed or seriously injured. I do not get enough food and have lost a lot of weight. You might even say I have gotten skinnier. I miss you all back home very much. You are my only reasoning for wanting to stay alive another day. I think about you all the time. Thankfully I have not had to work in the trenches yet. That is how most of the soilders that I have met have died. I am always sad not having any of you with me. Hopefully I can come home soon.
